Introducing Our New Director of Student Success & Wellbeing

person

Welcome to Kuspuk School District, Rayna Bird!

Kuspuk School District is honored to welcome Rayna Bird as our new Director of Student Success & Wellbeing.

Rayna brings deep personal connections to the Kuspuk region, with family roots tied to the Parent/Morgan family and childhood memories of attending elementary school in both Crooked Creek and Kalskag. Her connection to rural Alaska communities, combined with her passion for student success and inclusive educational leadership, makes her a meaningful addition to our district team.

Currently residing in Homer with her husband Ryan, a retired Coast Guard member and teacher in Ninilchik, Rayna enjoys baking, collecting beads, and spending peaceful mornings sharing coffee and stories along the spring river. Their home is also filled with the joyful company of 10 rescue dogs and 21 rescue birds.

With extensive experience in educational leadership throughout Alaska, Rayna’s background and graduate studies center around the administration of Tribal schools. She is passionate about creating collaborative, creative, and inclusive spaces where students, staff, and communities can work together toward a shared vision of success and wellbeing.

Please join us in giving Rayna Bird a warm Kuspuk welcome as we continue moving forward together in support of our students and communities.
