A message from the Superintendent, Dr. Madeline Aguillard:
After much reflection, I have made the decision to resign from my position as Superintendent of Kuspuk School District effective June 30, 2026, as I begin a new professional chapter.
Over the past several years, Kuspuk and the middle Kuskokwim communities have become a meaningful part of my life. I will carry the relationships, experiences, challenges, and successes of the region with me. There is something powerful about watching a basketball game in a packed school gym in rural Alaska, flying home over the river after a long day, or seeing an entire community come together for kids. Those moments reflect the heart of Kuspuk.
Throughout my time here, I have had the privilege of working alongside incredible staff, watching students grow into leaders, and experiencing firsthand the strength and resilience in each village.
Life and leadership in rural Alaska is not always easy. Communities face challenges many people will never understand. Yet time and time again, I have watched people come together with perseverance, humor, compassion, and pride. Kuspuk has continued moving forward together, and I believe deeply in the future of this region because of its people.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of this journey alongside all of you. Kuspuk will always hold a special place in my heart.
-Dr. Madeline Aguillard
