Crooked Creek School Renovation Project Update
Kuspuk School District | October 16, 2026
Kuspuk School District would like to provide the Crooked Creek community and the broader Kuspuk School District with an update on the ongoing renovation of the Crooked Creek K-12 School.
Construction continues to move forward, with Alaska Electrical Contractors actively working on improvements to the school and surrounding property. The project includes upgrades to the school's infrastructure, utilities, and other areas needed to improve the overall condition, safety, and reliability of the facility.
Recent work has included foundation improvements, preparation for the new wastewater lift station, and improvements to the surrounding grounds. During construction, crews identified an existing leak in the wastewater system. The District is working with the contractor, engineers, and other involved parties to determine the best course of action to address this issue.
With winter approaching, our current priority is completing as much of the exterior work as possible before weather conditions limit construction activities. Once these weather-sensitive portions of the project are completed, the focus will shift toward finishing the remaining interior improvements. Construction progress continues to be documented, and the District is working closely with the contractor and engineering team to address issues as they arise and keep the project moving forward.
We recognize the importance of completing these improvements and sincerely appreciate the community's patience and understanding throughout the construction process. Our goal is to ensure the work is completed properly and that the improvements provide a safe, reliable, and functional school for students, staff, and the community for years to come.
